2022 UN Complaint
On September 15, 2022, dozens of organizations across the United States submitted a complaint to United Nations independent experts challenging the United States' policy and practice of condemning people to death by incarceration (DBI), also known as life sentences.
2023 Submission to UN Expert Mechanism to Advance Racial Justice and Equality in Law Enforcement
The coalition* prepared a submission describing the United States’ racially discriminatory policy and practice of Death by Incarceration, more commonly known as life sentences.
2023 UN Human Rights Committee Review of United States in Geneva
In October 2023 members of our coalition traveled to Geneva Switzerland to submit testimony before the United Nations Human Rights Committee about the impact of the United State’s use of death by incarceration sentences.
